About
If you're anything like me, looking for a therapist would not have been your first choice. You're here after you've tried everything else you could think of. You've been through things that range from frustrating to confusing to outright traumatic, but you're smart, so you figure out how to make it work. Maybe you've been to counseling before, and found that even though it felt nice to open up, you left with the sensation of having missed something important. You already know how to manage. What you really want is to thrive. My job is to help you bridge that gap.
How I work
I draw on a combination of evolutionary psychology, cognitive neuroscience, humanistic therapies, and cognitive-behavioral interventions to help people like you achieve a clearer understanding of themselves. Then, with this understanding, we work towards crafting your life into something you don't just tolerate, but actually look forward to living.
This process looks different for everyone. It's frustrating, confusing, and genuinely scary not to know what steps are the right ones for you, but you don't have to figure it out alone. Reach out, and let's get started.
I often utilize interventions based on somatic (body and sensation-based) work, cognitive restructuring, acceptance, mindfulness, and behavior/environment modification. I help clients build on existing skills in emotional regulation, communication and relationship maintenance, time management, and self-care.
Specialties
I often work with overthinkers, perfectionists, and overachievers. Many of these same people struggle with motivation, chronic fatigue, and feeling dissatisfied with life. We work together to figure out what needs to change to bring you closer to the kind of life you want to have, and we build up the skills necessary to sustain it.
